My name is Marleen.

Welcome to my blog.

This website is devoted to you.  I have been interested in expanding my ability to reach people so that I can be more helpful. I want to share some of my experiences with creating new business, positive experiences and ability to experience happiness. Much of my current life is spent in mentoring new entrepreneurs with strategy, planning and financing.

This field studying exactly how non-physical mental phenomena create our reality is very interesting.  It is clear that there is a great deal of information out there illustrating the ways that we use our mind and our willpower to experience our life.

Life is a work in progress. So many people now are searching for their life purpose and looking for more meaning in our everyday world. It is interesting how hard we work to gain a foothold in life only to find out that we have only scratched the surface.  We believe that our life must have meaning and purpose.  But the universe and everything in it is so immense....and here we are on the edge of a spiral arm of the Milky Way in an infinite universe that seems indifferent to the likes of us.

We have to understand that we are not just human doings, but human beings, and that there is a purpose to our having this limited time on this earth. We do not have a minute to waste. Life is fulfilling and important. In our everyday experience, we have been deliberately cut off from the light.  This gives us an opportunity to grow and learn and so we can figure out, again, what the purpose of life is.  We have an opportunity to improve and grow. To remember who we are. To live and love. To love life. To see.

And all of those stumbling blocks that are placed in our way are all to teach us the lessons that we must learn. These lessons can be easy or they can be rough, depending on how blind we have become.

It is interesting how time changes everything and everyone.

So, while I can tell you a little bit about my past, it is more difficult to formulate a picture of the present.

A native of California, it is really fortunate to have been raised right in Silicon Valley. In my youth, the area was filled with magnificent apricot orchards, now long gone. We walked through them to get to school.

My career spans over 30 years in high technology. A technology visionary and leader, I have identified and directed some of the most important technologies and companies. I just jumped in and stayed in front of the development of communications, computers, and the Internet. All early. Frighteningly early. A serial entrepreneur, I have been a part of 7 startup companies. Some of them are 3Com, Sun Microsystems, Crescendo (now Cisco) and Women.com (now part of NBC). Over the course of this career, I was able to rise sequentially into positions of greater authority until I became CEO of Women.com and took it public in 2000.

Not just a business person, I have been a dancer, student, wife, mother and friend.

My interests range from ancient civilizations and comparative religions to cooking and food. I love to work with entrepreneurs who are bringing new inventions to market.  I love things that are alive like flowers, plants and animals.

Hopefully, my life will take me to many more new places as I love to travel and learn.

Working in the garden is hard work but so rewarding! Not too long ago I started a koi pond and have managed to raise 14 healthy and getting large fish. Koi are ever interesting and beautiful to watch.
